Saffron Walden Museum:
Landscape Masterplan

Client: Thomas Ford & Partners Architects / Fourth Street
Work stages: RIBA 1-2. 2019-2020
Fee: £3,500

Landscape masterplan, narrative and options for the setting of Saffron Walden Museum and Grade I Castle. Our proposals set out a blueprint to enhance the setting and connectivity with both the surrounding urban fabric and cultural landscape qualities of the site’s heritage assets. As such the focus of this project steered away from a purely architectural one, to one that put stories about cultures and nature from around the world, and how they related back to North West Essex.

We worked closely with focus groups who rated Landscape, biodiversity and setting enhancements that could tell the stories of this highly significant cultural landscape over all other aspects of the project.
