New design for the Spanish Roof Garden and Grade II 1930s landscape. Dolphin Square, 1200 unit iconic estate has seen its fair share of controversy, and previous schemes for redevelopment had failed. Our scheme takes a more sensitive approach with a new design for the roof garden now complete and accommodating a complex array of new services to help the estate reach net zero. Based on original design concepts and re-using mature trees, our design creates a newly accessible, beautiful space linking the gardens directly with the new bar.

Historic features have been adapted to accommodate green energy heat pumps, and along with biodiverse planting, help contribute to the estate’s green future.

Small gardens will continue Dolphin Square’s phytogeographic theme conceived by landscape architect, William Sudell in the 30’s. Other gardens, such as the Chinese Garden with significant original rocks, pool and falling water are to be restored and revitalised with new accessibility and planting.
